The difference is that the universal installer can be used to install the VDI plugin for any of our supported virtual desktop platforms. Both install the same VDI plugin for the selected platform. The new installer is Windows Universal Installer (Phone and Meetings). The dedicated installers are Windows x86 or 圆4 (Phone and Meetings).
Zoom will be transitioning to the Window Universal Installer in 2023 and gradually removing the older dedicated Windows installers. You can select specific devices to automatically forward to your virtual desktop or apps.Compatible plugins for this VDI release are listed below.
